Jackie Speier

Jackie Speier is the newly-elected Congresswoman representing the 12th District of California to the U.S. House of Representatives. The youngest person ever elected to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, she went on to serve 10 years in the California State Assembly. In 1998, she was elected to the State Senate, where she represented San Francisco and San Mateo County for eight years. During her tenure in the legislature Ms. Speier achieved an impressive record with over 300 pieces of legislation signed into law by both Democratic and Republican Governors.
