John La Puma, M.D.
John La Puma, M.D., is a board-certified specialist in internal medicine who has pioneered the idea of food-as-medicine that's tasty, including delicious eating plans for osteoarthritis pain relief, weight loss, cholesterol-lowering, anti-aging and childhood obesity. He taught the first cooking and nutrition course to U.S. medical students and is the first physician to graduate from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. Co-author with Michael Roizen, M.D. of the bestselling books Cooking the RealAge Way and The RealAge Diet, he contributed the recipes to YOU: The Owner’s Manual.
