While her husband, Gordon, was journeying across the Americas, she also started a journey - to transform the face of the cosmetics industry. In twenty years the Body Shop has grown into the UK’s largest international retailer with over 1500 stores in 47 countries. Anticipating the rise of environmentally concerned businesses, the Body Shop has always laid its success on the line by campaigning internationally on behalf of the issues that Anita believes in: human and civil rights, and animal and environmental protection.
