Young Womens' Program

Historically young girls have been discouraged from pursuing their professional dreams. Today it is vital that young women explore math, science and technology careers. Consider this: last year women filled 143,000 more technical jobs than the previous year. Many of these might have otherwise gone unfilled due to a lack of qualified candidates. PBWC offers a program designed to challenge traditional stereotypes and inspire teens to reach their full potential.

The Program for Young Women is in its eighth year, and we expect over 400 young women from local high schools and organizations to attend the upcoming conference on May 4, 2004. The PBWC Board of Directors created the Young Women's Conference Program to pass along our legacy by enabling the next generation of women leaders. The young women's program is designed to educate them about a variety of career paths, introduce them to successful women and role models, and to inspire them to pursue their dreams. We again offer a special track with two sessions geared toward young women - one on education, training and career path and one on science and technology careers. In addition, the young women will have the opportunity to hear the keynote speakers and visit the exhibitors and Cyber Café. We hope they will take advantage of all the conference has to offer on this exciting day.
