PBWC

Message from the President

Dear Friends,

It is with great honor that I serve as your President of PBWC for this next year. I am grateful to serve with both an experienced Board of Directors and several new Board members who are bringing their unique contribution to our collective effort.

This years conference was an unparalleled success in so many ways. We had the highest attendance in our history with a total of over 6000 which included 1100 high school girls representing a number of Bay Area schools. The quality of the keynotes and workshops surpassed even our best previous years and the involvement of attendees was at an all-time high. Together we have created the finest conference for professional and business women not only in California but throughout the country.

When we changed our name to the Professional BusinessWomen of California we were committed to providing something in addition to our extraordinary conference for our members. We wanted to provide a "community" of kindred spirits who were interested in being connected between conferences, exchanging ideas and resources to advance each other's commitments and leveraging a network of support that would represent thousands of influential voices in California. With your partnership, the exact configuration and scope of services of PBWC will be determined by this year 's Board of Directors. We would love to hear from you as to what would serve you best as a member, both the yearly conference and throughout the year between conferences. Please contact us through Susann Thon at The Registration Desk via phone, fax or email (650/548-2424; 650/548-0840; regdesk@netcom.com)

I invite your thinking and ideas in 3 areas in particular: inclusion, involvement and impact. What role would you like to see PBWC play in California 's future? How would you like to be involved specifically? Who else should we be including in our "community"? While I don't promise that we as an organization can be "all things to people," we are genuinely interested in your input and how to leverage our collective strength. I will stay in communication with you throughout the year but if you want to reach me directly you can call my 24 hour voice mail # at (800/274-8449).

Thanks for your participation and partnership.

Warmest regards, Rayona Sharpnack.
