OPENING KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Dr. Anita Borg

Dr. Anita Borg is President of the Institute for Women and Technology at Xerox Parc where she oversees the organization's collaboration with corporate, academic and philanthropic organizations. Under her direction, the Institute researches and deploys useful technologies in support of women's communities. She formerly served as Consulting Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation.

Dr. Borg has been awarded the 1995 Pioneer Award from the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the 1995 August Lovelace Award from the Association of Women in Computing. Recently appointed by President Clinton to the Congressional Commission on the Advancement of Women and Minorities in Science, Engineering and Technology, she has spoken on industry panels and has been featured extensively in the media for her pioneering work.
