March Webinar - Embracing Change

March Webinar - Embracing Change

The one thing we all can count on in life is change. Yet, fear of change is almost universal. As the global economic crisis has made clear, change today can be dramatic and come very quickly. Those who fight it often get left behind, while those who embrace it are rewarded with opportunity. Having lived around the world, and with a nearly 20 year career as a news anchor, Pallas Hupé has discovered a few secrets to Embracing Change.
Pallas has boiled down her philosophy to four life lessons: Life is messy, Look for the Road Signs, Being a Perfectionist is the Perfect Way to Fail, and Don’t Just Endure, Persevere. With personal stories that range from how Steve Martin movies taught her to relax, to how she survived the pressure-cooker of final exams at Oxford University, her life lessons teach as they entertain, and can be applied immediately.
Pallas Hupé is a main anchor at KOVR/CBS13 in Sacramento, California. She has also worked in Detroit, Michigan, North Carolina and Florida - though she got her start in broadcasting in an unusual way: hosting a television show on an English-speaking channel in Saudi Arabia.
She is a graduate of Oxford University with a master's degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Originally from Washington, D.C., this married mother of two now calls Northern California home. She has also lived in Oregon and the South Bay Area, and traveled to the Middle East, Asia, Europe and North Africa.
A two time Emmy award-winning journalist, Pallas has also received recognition from the Associated Press, Radio and Television News Directors Association, Society of Professional Journalists and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
