SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., December 19, 2023 –

A Message from PBWC Board Chair Katy Brown

Dearest PBWC Community,

As 2023 comes to an end, I want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very happy and healthy holiday season.

My heart is filled with hope and gratitude as I look back on what we have accomplished this year. If there is one word that describes the incredible momentum we drove in 2023, it is “Engage”! Not only was it the key theme of PBWC’s Annual Conference, it was a promise, a conscious decision, each one of us took to “engage” and affect the change we want to see in our community.

From webinars and community events on mental health to AI governance, our diverse programming engaged dozens of speakers and addressed a myriad of topics relevant to women in various stages of their lives and careers. Meanwhile, the 34th Annual Conference drew thousands of attendees, extending its reach to 32 countries.

The impact of PBWC’s initiatives is not only seen in the numbers but also in the stories of transformation and empowerment, breaking barriers and unlocking the untapped potential.

There were countless moments in this year’s journey where I saw the impact and the success of our programs in action, but my favorite reflection was the pride and joy I felt watching our 2023 scholarship award recipients share their hopes and aspirations. The realization that we are empowering such talented young women as they embark on the next step in their careers, and potentially change the world, continues to inspire me every day. Thanks to the generous donations of this community, we awarded $44,000 in scholarships to eleven brilliant young women who began college this Fall.

While we reflect on the accomplishments of the year, let us also look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. The phrase “women are the largest reservoir of untapped talent in the world” underscores the significance of PBWC in the community. Our ability to engage, inspire, and support future women talent has never been more critical.

I’m thrilled about what we can achieve together in the upcoming year as we continue on our path to inspire, engage and uplift more women in our community.

Happy Holidays from my family to yours!

With gratitude,
