Helping the female leaders of tomorrow begin their studies and careers with a community of support.

The 2024 scholarship application window is now closed. Please consider donating to the program—the more we get, the more we can give.

PBWC’s Scholarship Program provides exceptional young women leaders with funds to help cover the costs of their undergraduate studies. As of 2023, PBWC has awarded over half a million dollars in scholarships—and individual awards of up to $15,000—to high-achieving female high school seniors.

Funds will be sent directly to an accredited college or university where the awardee is enrolled in an undergraduate academic program.

Please consider donating to the young women leaders of tomorrow as they embark on their educational journeys. Contributions of any size are appreciated. 100% of donations directly fund our Scholarship Program.

Congratulations to PBWC’s 2023 Scholarship Recipients!

“This upcoming fall, I will attend Stanford University and pursue a Bachelor’s degree in bioengineering. I aim to open new frontiers by applying engineering principles to healthcare and will dedicate my time to developing affordable and accessible medical treatments…I hope to become a role model for younger generations of girls and show them that the possibilities for improvement are limitless.

ALICE FINKELSTEIN
PBWC CHARLES SCHWAB SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

PBWC’s Academic Scholarship gives me the support to pursue the male-dominated field of computer science and make an impact as an entrepreneur…I feel fortunate to be awarded this scholarship to help fulfill my dream of being an innovative and compassionate leader on the health-tech stage, transforming not just the lives of those in my community, but in the entire world.”

SHAFAA MUNJAL
PBWC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

“As a result of my enjoyment of my research experiences, I’d like to major in biomedical engineering and do medical research in college; it’d be incredible to collaborate with other researchers to develop a novel treatment for a disease. After college, I hope to pursue an M.D.-Ph.D. to save people’s lives through both research and medical practice.

MIRIYA MAYENKAR
PBWC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

I hope to use the management skills I’ve already begun to acquire to construct technological solutions to advocate for increased diversity in particular healthcare specialties and elevate the availability of health products in communities globally. As a woman and person of color myself, I plan to lead initiatives and advocate for identities like my own to raise inclusivity and accessibility to fair and equitable care.”

AYUSHI KADAKIA
PBWC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

“Earning a degree in political science, I strive to dig deeper into democratic society and how systemic remedies can engage the underrepresented as leaders. Pursuing further education in organizational behavior, I hope to bring magic to nonprofits, governments, and workplaces, using my knowledge and voice to help people realize their immense potential as leaders and changemakers.”

ESTHER KIM
PBWC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Right now, I feel the strongest biochemical wave… pushing me to huddle over a microscope in a research lab and clean the wounds of high-poverty populations as an international doctor. I love this biochemistry that makes me bold. I’m proud to be a female pursuing male-oriented STEM fields. As an immigrant from Thailand, I’m proud to have the opportunity to be in a country where I have the right to education as a woman.”

JESSICA ONG
PBWC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

“In college, in medical school, and as a physician, I hope to advocate for those discriminated against in medicine by educating my peers and lobbying for policy change. Just like I had broken past my personal barriers, I hope to break down the seemingly insurmountable barriers to a humane healthcare system.

EMILY WANG
PBWC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

“I have been accepted into Yale University as a prospective Global Affairs Major, and I plan on serving in the State Department’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, promoting female socioeconomic development in American diplomacy, particularly in the Indo-Pacific Region. I hope to utilize my unique background to diplomatically navigate the creation of local girls’ social and economic empowerment programs.

JOLEEN BAKALOVA
LOREN MAHON BOOK SCHOLARSHIP

“I advocate for equality, justice, and the recognition of women, minorities, and other silenced communities in labor, law, and other political spheres. By pursuing a degree in Political Science and Public Policy, I can research ways to create more sustainable policies that actively fight against inequality and discrimination.”

EVA CHEN

“In college, I plan to study computational mathematics and continue my research on mobility data analysis and data fusion models to discover geoengineering solutions. I look forward to joining the PBWC community of resilient changemakers, and I am excited at what we can accomplish together at PBWC with the strength of communal effort.”

LISA FUNG

“Uncovering new discoveries in STEM is my true passion, and currently I hope to become a researcher and pursue a PhD in computer science or mathematics. With this scholarship, I aim to make the most out of my college education by…making new connections within my community to graduate ready to create meaningful change in this world not only as an engineer, but as a role model for future girls in STEM.”
